Dope actress Kiersey Clemons has closed a deal to star opposite Ezra Miller in the upcoming Rick Famuyiwa flick The Flash. Clemons will portray Iris West, the famed Central City reporter and love interest to the Scarlet Speedster, in the upcoming film.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Clemons was the top choice for the female lead in the Warner Bros. film, which is in no way associated with the current television series starring Grant Gustin.
The Flash will be part of the ever growing DC Expanded Universe and will be based off a script from the movie's previous director Seth Grahame-Smith. That draft is based on a treatment by Chris Miller and Phil Lord of The LEGO Movie fame.
Rick Famuyiwa, who worked with Kiersey Clemons on Dope, recently took over directing duties on The Flash after Smith departed the project due to creative differences this past spring.
Production is expected to commence sometime this year.
The Flash speeds into theaters on March 16, 2018.
