New Suicide Squad Details Emerge

Following a few really great trailers, and some recent TV spots, fans have a basic idea of what to expect from David Ayer's Suicide Squad. A team of really bad people is ordered to do something really dangerous which will most likely see them ending up really dead.

Now, Entertainment Weekly has shed a little more light on the film, revealing that the movie takes place after Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice (You have watched the amazing Ultimate Cut already, right?) and that it features Amanda Waller putting together a team to deal with the next alien who decides to arrive on earth.

Her first target? why none other then professed archaeologist June Moone.

The trade goes on to reveal that Waller's Task Force X doesn't get the green light until Midway City (home of the winged superhero Hawkman in DC Comics lore) is attacked by a mystical new enemy, forcing Waller to activate the entire squad of villains.

The squad gets a small taste of freedom, but in exchange they must "Obey orders or die, a rule strictly enforced by squad leader Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman), his samurai Katana (Karen Fukuhara), and the explosive devices inserted into their necks courtesy of Wayne Enterprises."

But that's not all!

"Throwing a wrench into all these plans is the tatted Gotham City arch-criminal, the Joker (Jared Leto), and his laser-like plan to reunite with his true love, Harley, mission be damned."

All of this plus Ben Affleck's Batman? Suicide Squad is going to be one busy flick!

And we can't wait to check it out!

This Friday's issue of Entertainment Weekly focuses heavily on the action-packed DC flick, so be sure to pick up your copy on newsstands tomorrow. Until then, check out the four exclusive Suicide Squad covers you can pick from when the issue arrives in just a few short hours!

Starring Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Karen Fukuhara, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Jay Hernandez, Jai Courtney, Viola Davis, Adam Beach, Cara Delevingne, Jared Leto and Ben Affleck, Suicide Squad charges into theatres on August 5th.
