Krypton Casts Its Female Lead

After Hours actress Georgina Campbell has landed a lead role in Krypton, the upcoming Superman prequel pilot from David S. Goyer and Warner Bros. Television.

Campbell will play Lyta Zod, a member of Krypton’s military caste and the daughter of a general, Alura Zod. Lyta Zod serves as a cadet — and has also been having a clandestine, forbidden romance with Seg-El.

The story follows Superman's grandfather Seg-El two generations before the destruction of the doomed planet. In the show, the House of El is ostracized and shamed and Seg-El fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his world from chaos.

Campbell, who can next be seen in Season 3 of Broadchurch and the Guy Ritchie epic King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword, will kick off her North American TV debut with Krypton.

David S. Goyer and showrunner Damian Kindler will executive produce, with Colm McCarthy on as co-executive producer and director of the pilot, which will air on Syfy.

What do you think of the show's first casting choice?
