We've known since the end of X-Men: Apocalypse that the evil Mr. Sinister was headed to the X-Verse - and now we know exactly when the vile scientist will be showing up.
Cinemablend reports that, according to the X-Men: Apocalypse digital edition audio commentary from director Bryan Singer and producer Simon Kinberg, Sinister will be the villain featured in James Mangold's Wolverine 3.
Richard E. Grant is playing a mad scientist character in the film, so it is possible that he'll be portraying none other than Nathaniel Essex himself - the alter ego of Mr. Sinister. And given that the character is an immortal from Victorian era England, Grant would be a great fit for the part.
Sinister first appeared in the pages of Uncanny X-Men back in the 1980's, and is considered to be one of the most important X-Men villains of all time. Fans have been hoping the character would make his live-action debut in Fox's movie universe - and now it sounds like those prayers are about to be answered.
Starring Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Richard E. Grant, Boyd Holbrook and Eriq La Salle, Wolverine 3 will claw its way into theaters on March 3, 2017.
