Fans of DC Comics know that there are few heroes as powerful as The Flash. He's capable of running at incredible speeds, phasing through objects, even traveling through time. At his most, the Scarlet Speedster isn't the type of hero you want to cross paths with if you're up to no good.
But, we shouldn't expect to see that version of Barry Allen in the DCEU according to Ezra Miller.
Speaking with IGN, Miller revealed that he wants the character to come across as a capable crime fighter, but is not interested in playing a fully evolved version of The Flash as seen in the classic Kingdom Come tale from Mark Waid and Alex Ross.
"I love this comic 'Kingdom Come' - unbelievable art - and in that The Flash is fully evolved, and you never even see him, right? It's just like a red mist, and there's no crime in [Keystone] City. He protects a whole chunk of the country. So that wouldn't make for the most interesting film - you know what I mean? What do we have to learn about that guy? That guy barely exists, right? He's almost one with the Speed Force. So it's interesting to go to the beginning."
We must admit that Ezra is probably right to feel this way - even though we love Kingdom Come.
A less experienced speedster is more prone to making mistakes. Thus, the character becomes more relatable, and his time on screen more dramatic.
The Flash is due for release on March 16, 2018. Before then, fans can catch Ezra Miller as the Scarlet Speedster in Zack Snyder's Justice League on November 17, 2017.
