Ezra Miller Discusses The Flash Director Departure

Last week, it was announced that director Rick Famuyiwa had left The Flash movie following creative differences with Warner Bros. Studios. Now, star Ezra Miller has weighed in on the departure, and shared what he feels a director will need in order to successfully helm the Scarlet Speedster's upcoming solo adventure.

"I think that the most important quality is the open heart," Miller said. "I think that The Flash has to be a story that is heartfelt. Because I think that's where the lightning really is."

Currently, Warner Bros. is in the process of finding a replacement director.

Despite this, it sounds as though the studio is hoping to get the film off the ground as soon as possible. Speaking with Screen Rant, Miller commented on  the progress of The Flash movie and when fans can expect production to begin. “We don’t know right now [who the director will be], but I think we’ll start this year, I think it’s coming up pretty quick.”

Miller's comments indicate that the studio is keeping The Flash on track for release in 2018.

That said, just who the new director will be and when The Flash movie will actually enter production remains to be seen at this time. However, Miller's comments should give fans some assurance that Warner Bros. wants to keep the film on track regardless of setbacks.

Here's hoping a new director steps up soon.
