Han Solo Movie To Feel Like A Western

Kathleen Kennedy recently spoke with Variety about the upcoming Han Solo movie, giving fans a better idea of the look and feel that the second Star Wars Anthology film will have.

This moves closer to a heist or western type feel,” Kennedy told the trade. “We’ve talked about (Frederic) Remington and those primary colors that are used in his paintings defining the look and feel of the film.”

Given Solo's history as a sort of intergalactic outlaw, the thought of giving the film more of an old west frontier feel makes perfect sense. We could just see the young smuggler ambling into a seedy cantina on some backwater planet and mouthing off to the wrong alien.

And, when he gets in over his head, that's where Lando and Chewie come in to save his bacon.

The still untitled Han Solo movie is being directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller.

Set for release on May 25, 2018, the highly anticipated prequel stars Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover and Emilia Clarke.
