One of the biggest questions fans have about the upcoming Jurassic World sequel is whether or not we'll be crossing paths with Dr. Henry Wu once again. After all, since he made it off Isla Nublar with a suitcase filled with dinosaur embryos, one can't help but wonder if the man who made the dinosaurs of Jurassic Park a reality has more of a story to tell.
Executive producer Frank Marshall recently spoke with Cinema Blend about the possibility of B.D. Wong returning to the franchise for a third time as the dubious Dr. Wu, and appeared to confirm this speculation when asked point blank if the character would be back for Jurassic World 2.
“When they take off in helicopters, you know they’re probably going to come back.”
Jurassic World revealed that Dr. Wu was the brilliant mind behind the creation of the monstrous Indominous Rex. It was also shown that he had an arrangement with InGen head of security Vic Hoskins, who had plans to weaponize the dinosaurs.
When he escaped via helicopter at the end of the movie, it was implied that his partnership with Vic Hoskins was still in effect. However, now that he is dead, it will be very interesting to see how Wu handles all those dinosaur embryos currently in his possession.
Jurassic World 2, directed by Juan Antonio Bayona, will star Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. The movie stomps into theatres on June 22, 2018.
