One of the many things that has fans excited for The Batman is the inclusion of actor Joe Manganiello as the famed DC Comics mercenary Deathstroke. In a recent interview with Mark Madden – Super Genius, Manganiello spoke about the upcoming solo film and how it will stand out from previous Batman movies.
“His take is a fresh take, but I think the audience is going to be surprised. Because it is a road that no one has really gone down that is completely integral to who Batman is. I think it’s gonna be refreshing, but at the same time completely familiar. But it is going to take this franchise in a direction that I think a lot of people are going to be really happy about.”
He then went on to discuss the film's tone and even praised Affleck for his past work.
“It is going to be gritty, action packed, cerebral and all of those elements that people love about Batman. Ben is a great director, man. The last film that man directed won best picture. He has got an Oscar for writing! Everything is lined up for a really really really great movie. Not only a superhero movie, but just a great great movie. Which is why I told him in the room when I met him that “I should be so lucky. I would be in great hands to work with you, I have loved all of your movies, let’s do this.”
The Batman stars Ben Affleck, Joe Manganiello, Jeremy Irons and J.K. Simmons. It has yet to be given an official release date by Warner Bros. Studios.
