Pokémon Sun and Moon Series Heads To Disney XD

Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, the newest chapters of the hugely successful Nintendo video game franchise, arrived in stores yesterday to the thrill of Pocket Monster fans across the globe.

Next month, a brand new Pokémon anime series will debut in North America to coincide with the new game. Disney XD will serve as the show's new home, with the network airing the first two episodes of the show on December 5th alongside Pokémon The Movie: Volcanion And The Mechanical Marvel.

The network has also acquired the rights to air the last 19 seasons of the Pokémon anime and its 15 tie-in films as part of a recent distribution deal between Disney XD and The Pokémon Company.

The new Pokémon Sun and Moon series will follow Ash as he travels through the Alola Region. Fans can expect to encounter new characters, Pokémon, battle techniques and more!

Japan has had the new Pokémon anime since Friday.
