David Ayer To Direct Gotham City Sirens

Suicide Squad director David Ayer is returning to the world of DC Comics.

The filmmaker is reuniting with actress Magot Robbie for Gotham City Sirens, a feature project that will showcase the top female villains from the DC Universe. Ayer will direct and produce the project with Robbie reprising her role as Harley Quinn. She will also serve as an executive producer on the comic book movie.

Sirens was a recent DC Comics title that focused on some of the most popular villainesses from Batman’s rogue gallery. These included the likes of Harley Quinn, Catwoman and Poison Ivy.

Tomb Raider scribe Geneva Robertson-Dworet will write the script.

Geoff Johns and Jon Berg will also be involved in a producorial role.

David Ayer's Suicide Squad would gross $745.6-Million worldwide this past summer, quickly becoming the 13th highest grossing film of all time. Warner Bros. is still planning a Suicide Squad sequel and is looking into a spinoff featuring Will Smith's Deadshot.

Warner doesn’t have a release date for Gotham City Sirens but the project has been fast-tracked.
