Fans are awaiting the release of Wonder Woman with bated breath, and who can blame them given the awesome number of photos and promos we've been getting over the last few months? Gal Gadot reprises her role as the Amazonian Princess first seen in Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice for a prequel tale that will explore Diana's transformation into one of the world's most iconic heroines.
Now, a new image has been released from the film via Entertainment Weekly. Posted below, the picture features Diana breaking into the armory to steal the God-Killer sword against her mother's wishes.
Given that the character comes from a peaceful island populated by women, stealing the weapon proves to be a big step for Wonder Woman, who uses her skills and abilities to help during the First World War.
“This is her moment,” says director Patty Jenkins “She’s heard all the terrible things about man’s land. But she’s also heard that mankind is in need and under duress. This is her great moment to make the decision to be the one to try and save them.”
Wonder Woman is directed by Patty Jenkins and stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, Elena Anaya and Lucy Davis. The Amazonian Adventure hits theatres on June 2, 2017.
