One of the most highly anticipated movies of 2017 is Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant. The movie, which serves as a sequel to the 2012 film Prometheus, will see the return of Michael Fassbender in two separate roles - that of the Androids David and Walter.
Coming Soon recently sat down with Fassbender and asked him how the film's new synthetic, Walter, differs from the nefarious David.
“I think Walter’s a real different kettle of fish,” Fassbender said. “David was definitely a work-in-progress, somewhat of a prototype I suppose. The elements of him that were the human elements I think people found a little disturbing, so Walter’s more of a straightforward robot. Pretty logical, much more of a servant without the ego.”
So, in short, it sounds like Walter will have more in common with Bishop from Aliens.
Here's hoping his programming is a little more solid than David's was.
Alien: Covenant stars Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Jussie Smolett, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo, Callie Hernández, Billy Crudup, Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, and James Franco. Directed by Ridley Scott, the film hits the big screen on May 19, 2017.
