There is no denying that the first trailer for Alien: Covenant is extremely intense!
Actress Katherine Waterston, who plays a character named Daniels in the film, recently commented on the violence and gore featured in the movie, something she says fans of the franchise will be able to handle just fine.
“It’s freaky. It’s definitely scary. I think people can handle it but it’s going to be a thrill. I don’t think it’s going to destroy anybody’s lives or anything but it is definitely scary. There’s levity in it, too, and wonderful interpersonal dynamics and stuff. That was something that was so great about the original film. You really felt you knew these people and that they were specific and lovely and sad to see them go.”
Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in Alien with Alien: Covenant, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with Prometheus -- and connects directly to Scott's 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world -- whose sole inhabitant is the "synthetic" David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
Starring Katherine Waterston, Michael Fassbender, Billy Crudup, Demián Bichir, Noomi Rapace, Danny McBride, and James Franco, Alien: Covenant hits theatres on May 19th.
