It has not been an easy road for the Uncharted movie.
An adaption of the hit video game series, Uncharted has lingered in development hell for almost five years now, and still has yet to enter production. In that time, directors ranging from Neil Burger to Seth Gordon have come and gone. And now, leading man Mark Wahlberg has revealed that he is no longer involved with the film.
Speaking with our friends over at We Got This Covered, Wahlberg broke the news that he is no longer attached to portray treasure hunter Nathan Drake in Uncharted.
“As of now, no, I’m not attached,” said the actor.
Interestingly, Wahlberg has been rumored to be involved with the film over the last five years. There were questions about whether or not there was still a chance Wahlberg might be involved with the film after Shawn Levy signed on to direct the film this past October.
Since then, Levy has revealed that he has several actors in mind for the role of Nathan Drake.
Who would you like to see portray the iconic treasure hunter on the big screen?
Uncharted has yet to receive an official release date.
