Newest Alien: Covenant Image Is Bloody Good

The countdown to the first official trailer for Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant continues today with a bloody good photo - this one showcasing what appears to be the aftermath of a Xenomorph battle.

This new image, courtesy of the Alien Anthology Twitter page, was also accompanied by another one of those strange numbered captions - in this case, 224612072104.

You can check out the cryptic image posted below...

Earlier this week, we learned that the first trailer for the film had been classified, meaning it should be arriving any day now. Apparently, the sneak peek will clock in at 1:58.

Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in ALIEN with ALIEN: COVENANT, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with PROMETHEUS — and connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

Starring Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, Billy Crudup, James Franco, Demian Bichir, Jussie Smollett, Carmen Ejogo and Amy Seimetz, Alien: Covenant arrives on the big screen May 19th.
