Earlier this week, NBC announced that the DC Comics comedy Powerless would bow on February 2nd. Now, there is a brand new synopsis that changes up the setting for the show - in a pretty big way! The office sitcom was originally going to take place at an insurance company and the employees were responsible for cleaning up the messes left behind by the superheroes and villains of the DC Universe.
However, the show's latest synopsis reveals that the show will now take place at office for Wayne Security, a subsidiary of Wayne Enterprises. Additionally, those employed there are now tasked with creating products that will make citizens feel safer among the super-powered world they find themselves living in.
You can read the new synopsis posted below...
In a world where humanity must cope with the collateral damage of Super Heroes and Super-Villains, Emily Locke (Vanessa Hudgens) begins her first day as Director of Research & Development for Wayne Security, a subsidiary of Wayne Enterprises that specializes in products that make defenseless bystanders feel a little safer. Full of confidence and big ideas, Emily quickly learns that her expectations far exceed those of her new boss (Alan Tudyk) and officemates, so it will be up to her to lead the team toward their full potential and the realization that you don’t need superpowers to be a hero.
How do you feel about this? And, does this change in setting mean that the show's pilot has been completely redone? Powerless met with positive feedback when it was showcased at San Diego Comic Con back in 2015, so here's hoping the new setting will only make the sitcom more appealing to fans and viewers alike.
Powerless arrives February 2nd at 8:30pm on NBC.
