It's no secret that the majority of Star Wars fans aren't the biggest fans of the prequel trilogy that ran from 1999 - 2005. However, one person who's not afraid to voice his admiration of these films is Rogue One actor Riz Ahmed.
In a recent interview with Screen Rush, Ahmed admitted that he felt the galactic politics and focus of the three films are actually the best parts of the prequel trilogy with its more adult plot.
“I did not have a massive problem with the prequels at all. There were some elements that stood out. Jar Jar Binks, I didn’t enjoy him as a character. But people had a problem with them because they weren’t broad and tough and cheek. I enjoy that. I enjoy the fact that it was about grown-up politics and the dissolution of the League of Nations and World War and the rise of fascism. I really enjoyed that and I really enjoyed Clone Wars. I really don’t see what the big problem is, to be quite honest.”
Honestly, we have to admit we agree with him! We despised Jar Jar wholeheartedly, but didn't actually hate the route that the prequel trilogy took story wise. What do you think?
Fans can catch Riz Ahmed as Rebel pilot Bodhi Rook in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story tomorrow!
