Disney and Lucasfilm will be laughing all the way to the bank this week as Rogue One: A Star Wars Story inches ever closer to a massive $600-Million.
The Gareth Edwards movie topped the Christmas box office, destroying the likes of Sing, Passengers, Assassin's Creed and Why Him? in the process. Currently, the film has raked in a massive $318-Million here in North America, and an additional $255-Million overseas.
That brings the film's full worldwide cume up to $573-Million - in less than two weeks time!
Rogue One currently holds the record for the second best December opening in box office history - topped only by J.J. Abrams' 2015 blockbuster, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The first standalone Star Wars movie should hit the $600-Million mark come the weekend.
Set before the events of 1977's Star Wars: A New Hope, the latest film follows a group of Rebel Alliance operatives as they attempt to steal the plans to the Empire's Death Star battle station.
Starring Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Riz Ahmed and Alan Tudyk, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is playing in theaters now.
