Back in August, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg teased the return of Hunter Zolomon to The Flash. While the character didn't die in the Season 2 finale of the hit DC Entertainment drama, Zolomon was transformed into the Black Flash with the help of two Time Wraiths.
In a brand new interview with TV Guide, actor Teddy Sears, who portrayed the black-clad speedster on the small screen, was asked whether or not we'd see Black Flash pop up at some point this season. While he would've give a definitive answer, he did reveal that there has been talk of doing a Black Flash episode.
“Zoom has been transformed into Black Flash, who has quite a place in the mythology of The Flash. He’s like the grim reaper for speedsters. Andrew Kreisberg, the head writer and EP, has talked about their interest in having a Black Flash return at some point in the series.”
However, Sears also cautioned that his schedule may get in the way as he'll be playing a main role on the upcoming series 24: Legacy on FOX beginning in February.
“It would be a lot of fun to drop back into that world. We’ll just have to see if the guys on the other end feel the same way. It sounds like they do, but it’s funny – now I belong to Fox, so there’s lots of people that would have to give a thumbs up. But I really hope so.”
The Flash Season 3 returns with all new episodes on Tuesday, January 24th at 8pm.
