Actress Francine York, known for portraying the willowy Lydia Limpet, the Bookworm's mole, in the classic Batman TV show, has passed away. She was 80 years old.
York died Friday morning at Valley Presbyterian Hospital in Van Nuys, California following a battle with cancer according to producer, and friend Pepper Jay.
York appeared in scores of classic television shows including Batman, Lost In Space, Bewitched and The Odd Couple. On the big screen, York was known for roles in Only Money, Cannon for Córdoba, The Doll Squad and Space Probe Taurus.
Outside of acting, York was also known as a gourmet cook and fitness and nutrition expert who hosted lavish parties in Hollywood. She was the decade-long companion of director Vincent Sherman until his death in 2006.
