Our Most Anticipated Action Figures Of 2017

2017 may still be in its infancy, but we can't help but look ahead to all the awesome plastic arriving throughout the next 365 days. And so, we sat down and decided to compile a list of the 10 figures we're most excited to get our hands on this year - so far, that is!

And so, here they are...

Beasts Of The Mesozoic Velociraptor - 1/6th scale scientifically accurate dinosaur action figures, with great detail and articulation? Uh, yes please! After watching Hasbro drop the ball with the Jurassic World license for nearly two years, these beautiful creatures look to ease the pain of dinosaur fans across the globe! The brainchild of NECA sculptor David Silva, we were all over these bad boys from the minute the Kickstarter was announced! The line will begin to see release this Spring, and we can't wait to get our hands on this gorgeous Velociraptor, which features an eye-catching red and orange paint scheme and a full range of articulation! Take note, Hasbro! This is how you're supposed to make dinosaur toys!

Be sure to pop over to the Creative Beasts Facebook page for all your dinosaur needs!

Vitruvian HACKS Spartan (Ver. 2) - Boss Fight Studios is looking to make one of their coolest action figures even better in 2017 with the Vitruvian HACKS Spartan! Several versions of this 4" figure have been released recently, but this new version is set to feature better paint and sculpting than previous offerings - and that's always something good in our book! Featuring a full range of articulation and looking as though they've jumped right out of Greek mythology, there is a lot to love with the Vitruvian HACKS line - and this new, muscle-bound soldier is sure to be proof of that in the new year! How many of these do you think we'll need to build a proper Spartan army? We're, uh, asking for a friend...

Ultimate Jungle Hunter Predator - 2017 marks the 30th Anniversary of the original Predator movie and NECA is celebrating with a whole slew of action figures dedicated to the milestone! However, none has us more excited than the upcoming Ultimate Jungle Hunter Predator! It's everything we loved about the 25th Anniversary edition, only better! We're talking improved sculpting, details, articulation, accessories and more! The Ultimate Jungle Hunter Predator is certainly set to be the  definitive collector’s version of the Jungle Hunter first encountered back in 1987! And we're dying to get our hands on it!

DC Collectibles Legends Of Tomorrow Atom - It seems like we've been waiting for an Atom action figure from DC Collectibles forever, but good things come to those who wait! This 7" figure features Professor Ray Palmer in his Atom suit from Legends Of Tomorrow and features multiple points of articulation, superb attention to detail and a slew of awesome accessories including interchangeable hands, blast effects and more! DC Collectibles has certainly come a long way in recent years, and figures like the Atom are sure to stand as proof of that for years to come! Now, here's hoping they'll show off a Rip Hunter figure at Toy Fair, right?

Arcade Appearance Alien - Guys, it's a pink Xenomorph based off the classic Aliens arcade game from back in the 1990's! Do you know how many quarters we blew on that game when we were kids? Plus, how could you not want a bright pink, pixelated Alien on your shelves? If that's not enough to get excited about, the figure also comes encased in unique packaging meant to resemble the side-scrollers arcade cabinet. What, you need more to love about this thing? Okay, it also comes packaged alongside a Facehugger, Chestburster and Alien Egg. Oh, and did we mention, it's freaking pink?! It's unique from top to bottom and we want a hive worth!

Marvel Legends Darkhawk - Fans have been asking for a Marvel Legends Darkhawk figure for well over a decade now, and he's finally getting his due in 2017 as part of the recently revealed Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 assortment! Fans of Chris Powell will no doubt be scanning toy store shelves looking to add one, or two, of these super-articulated 6" Darkhawk figures to their collection! Heck, we're more into DC than Marvel, but even we're impressed with the look of this snazzy piece! Just look at those wings! And that wicked red visor! Fortunately, it's okay to like both...right?

Star Wars: Black Series Baze Malbus - The Disney Store Elite version of Rogue One's heavy gunner is pretty sweet, but we still can't wait for the Hasbro version to hit stores! Baze will feature all the same detail and articulation that fans have come to love and expect from this line, and will include his wicked heavy blaster / energy tank combo! If there's one thing we love about Star Wars, it's characters that pack serious firepower - and anyone who has seen Rogue One knows exactly what we're talking about! Baze doesn't mess around!

Prometheus Lost Wave - Yep, we're including an entire assortment here! When this little line of action figures was cancelled back in 2012, we were devastated! But, NECA capped off 2016 with an awesome announcement for a Lost Wave of Prometheus figures that we never thought we would ever see! Making up the wave are 7" figures based off of Shaw, Vickers and even an infected version of poor Fifield. Each figure features over 25-points of articulation and comes complete with character specific accessories. We guess it really is true what they say: Good things do come to those who wait!

Medicom Batman v Superman Knightmare Batman - We loved Batman v Superman, and one of the scenes we enjoyed most was that trippy Knightmare sequence which saw a gun-totting Dark Knight kicking butts and taking names all in the midst of what appeared to be an invasion spearheaded by Darkseid! Medicom gave us a really nice pair of Batman figures from the movie last year, and this trend looks to continue into 2017 with the awesome Knightmare Batman! He features a pair of interchangeable heads, binoculars and enough firepower to take down anyone who gets in his way! Look, we know that Batman v Superman wasn't for everyone, but you have to admit the movie has been getting some pretty awesome action figures since it was released.

Figuarts Suicide Squad Deadshot - Yeah, sue us, we liked Suicide Squad too! And we're loving the looks of this S.H. Figuarts Deadshot, which will be seeing a release in both Asia and North America later this year! Deadshot comes packed with weapons and features a pair of interchangeable heads, he's also fully articulated, highly detailed and actually looks like the guy who played him in the movie! It's leaps and bounds nicer than what Mattel gave us at mass retail, standing as further proof that imports really have started coming into their own over the last few years! We can't wait  to put this guy on our DC Films shelf - and yep, we've got one.
