The weekend box office belongs to Rogue One once again!
According to the Disney Studios marketing team, the Gareth Edwards spinoff brought in an estimated $49.5-Million over the three-day weekend and $64.3-Million over the four-day holiday weekend, which now sees its domestic total sitting at $439.7-Million. This has allowed the movie to bypass Captain America: Civil War as the #2 domestic release of 2016.
Additionally, the latest Star Wars movie also raked in $45.8-Million overseas for a massive $350-Million international cume - and the film hasn't even opened in China yet!
Thus, the film's worldwide bankroll sits at $789.7-Million after a mere two weeks in circulation, just surpassing the $783-Million earned by Deadpool early last year.
Set before the events of 1977's Star Wars: A New Hope, the latest film follows a group of Rebel Alliance operatives as they attempt to steal the plans to the Empire's Death Star battle station.
Starring Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Riz Ahmed and Alan Tudyk, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is playing in theaters now.
