The CW Revives Constantine As Animated Series

Big news, Hellblazers! The CW has revived the short-lived NBC series Constantine as an animated series on CW Seed. The network made the announcement this morning at Television Critics Association’s press tour.

Matt Ryan, who portrayed the titular character, will be back to voice John Constantine on the new series, which hails from executive producer Greg Berlanti. David S. Goyer, co-creator and executive producer of the original NBC series, is also involved.

Ryan reprised the role of John Constantine for an episode of Arrow last season, and will be voicing the famed DC Comics character next month in the DC Animated Original Movie Justice League Dark alongside Jason O'Mara, Roger Cross and Camilla Luddington and Nicholas Turturro.

Each of the six episodes will have a runtime of 10-minutes.

Constantine joins fellow DC TV animated series Vixen on CW Seed. A third series, Freedom Fighters: The Ray will also be joining the CW Seed DC TV line-up in 2017.
