After a rather interesting month, Warner Bros. issued a press release last night confirming that visionary War For The Planet Of The Apes director Matt Reeves would both direct and produce the highly anticipated solo superhero flick, The Batman.
As if that wasn't cool enough, The Dark Knight himself, Ben Affleck, took to Twitter shortly after to officially welcome Mr. Reeves to the project. Check out his tweet posted below...
This officially puts to rest those annoying rumours, which we refused to print, that Affleck was seriously considering leaving the DC Universe behind following his work on Zack Snyder's Justice League. It's great to see there was no truth to those ramblings - Ben Affleck is easily one of the best parts of the ere expanding DC Films Universe.
Aside from starring in the movie, Affleck is also serving as an executive producer. He also co-wrote the script with DC Entertainment president Geoff Johns.
It just goes to show...
The Batman stars Ben Affleck, Joe Manganiello, Jeremy Irons, and J.K. Simmons.
