The upcoming X-Men TV show has found its leading man.
True Blood alum Stephen Moyer will star in the untitled pilot, from writer Matt Nix and director Bryan Singer, as Reed. The character is described as an ambitious attorney trying to balance the demands of his job at the DA's office with his responsibilities to his family.
Moyer joins a cast that already includes Blair Redford and Jamie Chung.
The pilot will focus on two ordinary parents who discover their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.
Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory will executive produce alongside Singer and Nix respectively. 20th Century Fox Television will produce in association with Marvel Television.
