Static Shock, the fan-favorite DCAU spinoff that premiered back in 2000, is finally coming to DVD in his first complete season thanks to our friends over at Warner Archive.
Fans have been waiting a long time for this one! Back in 2004, Warner Home Video would release a single disc of Static Shock with only six episodes. The show has never gotten an official entry, but that's all about to change this March.
Warner Archive has announced that Static Shock: The Complete First Season will be released on March 28th, 2017. The release will contain all thirteen Season 1 episodes on MOD discs and will cost $24.95. Currently, there is no word on any additional features.
You can read the official synopsis for the DVD release posted below...
Based on characters from the DC Comics series, superhero Virgil Hawkins and his classmates confront real problems and issues faced by today's teens: peer pressure, gangs and growing up in an ethnically diverse, urban neighborhood.
Static Shock debuted on Kids WB! back in 2000 and featured the voice talents of Phil LaMarr (Justice League: Unlimited), Jason Marsden (Young Justice) and Kevin Michael Richardson (Batman: Under The Red Hood). It followed fourteen year old high school student Virgil Hawkins, who gains superpowers following a chemical explosion.
With Season 1 set for release this March, here's hoping Seasons 2 - 4 won't be too far behind.
Are you excited for the first full season home video release of Static Shock?
