Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Person Of Interest alum Amy Acker has been cast as the leading lady in Marvel's upcoming X-Men pilot from Matt Nix and Bryan Singer.
New cast members joining the fanboy fav are Emma Dumont and Percy Hynes White.
The project will follow two ordinary parents who discover their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.
Acker will portray Kate Stewart, a woman who is struggling with her separation from her husband, Reed, and her increasingly challenging teenage children. When her family situation takes a dark turn, she finds that she's stronger than she thinks.
Acker's past credits also include Dollhouse, MacGyver and Justice League: Unlimited.
Emma Dumont will take on the role of Lorna Dane, the strong-willed mutant known as Polaris. Brave and loyal to a fault, she has the ability to manipulate magnetism.
Actress Emma Dumont has appeared on Aquarius, Bunheads, and Pretty Little Liars.
White will portray Andy, a sensitive kid and bit of a loner, who keeps to himself to avoid the turmoil he faces at school and at home. His credits include 11.22.63 and Night At The Museum.
The trio joins a cast that includes Stephen Moyer, Blair Redford, Natalie Alyn Lind, and Jamie Chung in the role of famed Marvel Mutant Blink.
Bryan Singer is attached to direct, while Matt Nix is writing the script. The pair will also executive produce along with Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory. 20th Century Fox TV and Marvel Television are producing.
