Dark Days Are Ahead For The DC Universe This Summer

Dark days are ahead for the DC Universe.

This summer, best-selling Batman writer Scott Snyder will lead a team of all-star creators for two special issues intended to reveal a mystery at the heart of the DC comic book universe.

Entitled Dark Days, the event will take place over two issues - June's Dark Days: The Forge and the following month's Dark Days: The Casting. Snyder will team up with writer James Tynion IV on the story, with art supplied by DC Entertainment co-publisher Jim Lee, Andy Kubert and John Romita Jr. respectively.

"Dark Days posits a mystery that traces all the way back to when I started on Batman," Snyder revealed in a recent statement. "I've hinted at them over the years with Easter eggs and clues. This is a mystery that literally begins at the dawn of man and spans generations of heroes and villains and ultimately leads to huge revelations about the past, present and future of the cosmology of DC."

This storyline has already been teased within the pages of Tynion's Detective Comics run. The recently released 950th issue even included a prelude featuring a rundown of Batman's placement of agents throughout the DC Universe.
