After Tim Miller's Deadpool emerged a juggernaut at the box office in 2016, there was no doubt that Fox would be moving ahead with a sequel - even if it meant getting a new director.
After Tim Miller exited the sequel citing creative differences, the studio brought in John Wick co-director David Leitch. A one-time stuntman and expert fight choreographer, it comes as no surprise that Leith recently revealed that he's planning to ramp up the action with Deadpool 2.
"There's more action in this film. I hope we can expand it and make it interesting in an 87Eleven kinda way," Leitch recently told Empire, referring to the fight choreography school he runs with John Wick co-director Chad Stahelski.
However, while the sequel will feature more action, the director promises that he'll be sticking to the same formula which made Tim Miller's movie such a big hit. “The completely irreverent tone was the thing that won me over about the first Deadpool movie,” he admits. "I want to deliver on what they did and at the same time hopefully expand the universe."
But, before those cameras get rolling, Leitch will have to find the right actor to portray the time-traveling mutant known as Cable. While many names have come up, from Man Of Steel baddie Michael Shannon to Brad Pitt, Fox has yet to announce who will be stepping into the part.
Who do you think it should be?
