Michael K. Williams, known for his role in The Wire, has entered negotiations to join the cast of the upcoming Han Solo spinoff film from Disney and Lucasfilm.
Filming is already underway on the highly anticipated film, which stars Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Joonas Suotamo. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are directing.
Written by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan, the movie will be produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur, Simon Emanuel, and co-produced by Kiri Hart, Susan Towner, and Will Allegra. Lawrence Kasdan and Jason McGatlin will executive produce.
The movie will explore Han and Chewie's adventures before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope, including their early encounters with that other card-playing rogue, Lando Calrissian.
Michael K. Williams can also be seen on the ABC miniseries When We Rise.
The currently untitled Han Solo movie arrives May 25th, 2018.
