Warner Bros. Wants Two DC Films In Production This Year

Yesterday afternoon, it was announced that Warner Bros. had pushed James Wan's Aquaman to a new release date of December 21, 2018. At this point, Aquaman is the only confirmed DC Film set for 2018. However, according to Variety reporter Justin Kroll, Warner Bros. is still hoping to get another DC movie into production this year.

And apparently, there are five possible candidates that could take that spot.

According to Mr. Kroll, the studio is looking at getting either Gotham City Sirens, The Flash, Green Lantern Corps, Suicide Squad 2 or Justice League Dark (also known as Dark Universe) into production before the end of 2017. However, should a suitable script not be in place for these projects, the studio is content to just deal with Aquaman this year until the other DC projects are firmed up and ready to go.

It will be very interesting to see if Warner Bros. is able to put another DC Film into production this year. Currently, David Ayer is attached to direct Gotham City Sirens, with Margot Robbie executive producing and starring as Harley Quinn. The Flash is currently searching for a director, and it is said that the script for the film is undergoing a rewrite.

Additionally, the studio hired  David Goyer and Justin Rhodes to write the script for Green Lantern Corps, hired Doug Liman to direct Justice League Dark after he left Gambit over at Fox, and is looking to close a deal with Adam Cozad to write Suicide Squad 2. The studio is also in search of a director for the project, including Mel Gibson.

What do you think, Infinite Earths fans? Will we see another DC Film enter production in 2017?
