Beauty And The Beast helmer Bill Condon has entered negotiations to direct The Bride Of Frankenstein over at Universal Pictures. The film, a remake of the 1935 James Whale film of the same name, serves as part of the studio's upcoming classic movie monster universe.
Elsa Lanchester and Boris Karloff starred in the original, which also happens to be one of Condon's all-time favorite classic monster movies.
Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan are producing The Bride Of Frankenstein while David Koepp, the man who wrote the first two Jurassic Park movies for Universal, is writing the script.
Before The Bride Of Frankenstein hits theatres, the Universal Classic Movie Monster Universe kicks off in June with Alex Kurtzman's reboot of The Mummy.
Universal is also planning reboots of The Invisible Man, Creature From The Black Lagoon, Frankenstein, Dracula and The Wolfman as part of this rebooted film universe.
