Action star Dolph Lundgren is taking a trip to the DC Expanded Universe.
Known fir roles in Rocky IV, The Punisher and The Expendables, Lundgren has now joined the cast of James Wan's Aquaman, which begins production in Australia next month.
Lundgren will play King Nereus of the aquatic kingdom of Xebel, who claims Mera as his own and wants to kill Aquaman.
He joins a cast that includes Jason Momoa as the film's titular hero, Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master, Yahya Abdul-Mateen as Black Manta, Willem Dafoe as advisor and scientist Dr. Vulko, Nicole Kidman and Temuera Morrison.
Dolph Lundgren is no stranger to the DC Universe. The action star has played Russian mobster Konstantin Kovar for much of Arrow this season, a man intent on toppling the government and taking the country as his own.
James Wan's Aquaman arrives in theatres December 2018.
