Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 opened overseas yesterday, where it brought in a stellar $6.6-Million from three foreign markets. The film opens here in North America on May 5th.
At this point, the James Gunn sequel is pacing well ahead of the 2014 film. The movie brought in $4.5-Million from Australia, where it also earned the second highest opening day for any Marvel release behind The Avengers.
In Italy, the movie took in $1.4-Million, with another $700,000 coming in from New Zealand.
Tracking suggests the superhero sequel could top $100-Million in its overseas opening.
Here in North America, the movie is tracking to open in the $130-Million-$150-Million range.
When the first Guardians Of The Galaxy opened in August 2014, it would go on to become a surprise hit, earning $733-Million globally before the end of its box office run.
Starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Kurt Russell, Sylvester Stallone and Michael Rosenbaum, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 opens May 5th.
