The premiere of Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 kicked off last night at the Dolby Theatre, and the cast and crew were out in full force to celebrate the upcoming Marvel movie.
The Hollywood Reporter was on hand for the event and caught up with returning director James Gunn. It was on Monday afternoon that Gunn took to his official Facebook page to confirm that he'll be back to write and direct a third Guardians Of The Galaxy film and, while he didn't offer up any additional information regarding the next installment, he assured the trade that it would not mark the end of his career with Marvel Studios.
"It doesn’t mean it will be the end of my relationship with Marvel," Gunn told the trade.
And so, the question is, what will James Gunn be tackling at Marvel after the third Guardians Of The Galaxy has come and gone? We'll have to wait and see, but clearly Gunn continuing his career with the studio is something those in power have had in mind. Marvel head Kevin Feige said Monday he could foresee a future in which Gunn would oversee projects beyond a third Guardians Of The Galaxy movie.
Whatever the case may be, it's great to hear that Gunn has no plans to leave Marvel behind.
