In advance of Star Wars Celebration in Orlando this weekend, franchise stars Mark Hamill and Daisy Ridley dropped by Good Morning America to announce a new Star Wars 40th Anniversary charity campaign launched by Omaze and Star Wars: Force For Change that will benefit UNICEF and Starlight Children’s Foundation.
Over the course of the next four weeks, between April 11th– May 11th, fans may enter at Omaze.com/StarWars for a chance to win once-in-a-lifetime Star Wars experiences including
- A trip to Skywalker Ranch in Marin, Calif., including a tour of the Lucasfilm archives, a stay at the bed-and-breakfast on site and a screening of the 1977 Star Wars.
- An invite to join the cast at the premiere later this year of Star Wars: The Last Jedi (in theaters December 15th) and exclusive afterparty.
- A visit to the set of the young Han Solo movie (currently filming in England) to meet with directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller and have the chance to appear in the upcoming spinoff.
"In a year that we celebrate 40 years of the Star Wars saga, I continue to be inspired by the incredible generosity and charitable efforts of our fans," said Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy in a statement. "We are so proud of their tireless dedication to positively impact the lives of children and others around the world, and hope this year’s Force For Change campaign will offer a few of those wonderful fans an experience they will never forget."
Since 2014, Star Wars: Force for Change has raised more than $13-Million for various charitable causes. Starlight Children’s Foundation is the newest charity to benefit from the charity. Through a $1-Million grant, Star Wars: Force for Change supports the foundation’s core programs at 700-plus children’s hospitals, clinics, and camps.
