Ever since it was announced that Shane Black was doing a new Predator movie, fans have been hoping and praying that the alien's original prey, action star Arnold Schwarzenegger, would make an appearance in the film.
Now, Arnold has finally decided to put the record straight once and for all.
When asked by Yahoo! Movies if he was involved with Black's movie, Schwarzenegger revealed that he had been approached, but turned down the opportunity to appear in The Predator.
"They asked me, and I read it, and I didn’t like it — whatever they offered," he said. "So I’m not going to do that, no. Except if there’s a chance that they rewrite it, or make it a more significant role. But the way it is now, no, I won’t do that."
Fans should keep in mind that he did not say he disliked the script for the movie, but rather the part his character would play in it. Director Shane Black even took to Twitter earlier this afternoon to confirm that this was indeed the case.
Arnold Schwarzenegger starred in the original Predator back in 1987 as Dutch Schaefer, the sole human survivor of a Predator attack.@iamJermaineP @MPredator24 Me too... I spoke with him, I think it was that he didn't have enough to do. Enough presence in the film.— Shane Black (@BonafideBlack) April 6, 2017
