There has been a lot of talk surrounding an apparent feud between actors Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson leading up to the release of The Fate Of The Furious. Rumours swirled after Johnson took to social media during the film's shoot to suggest he was upset with some of his co-stars. Then, it was reported that the two stars were being kept apart during the press tour for the movie.
Now, speaking with USA Today, Diesel hoped to set the record straight regarding his apparent feud with co-star Dwayne Johnson. The actor didn't deny the conflict, but also says that what happened has been resolved - oh, and that things were blown out of proportion.
"I don’t think the world really realizes how close we are, in a weird way. I think some things may be blown out of proportion. I don’t think that was his intention. I know he appreciates how much I work this franchise. In my house, he’s Uncle Dwayne. I protect the franchise. I protect everybody including Dwayne. I protected Dwayne more than he’ll ever know. And it doesn’t matter. He doesn’t have to know. But he appreciates it. He knows it. Dwayne has only got one Vin in his life. Dwayne Johnson only has one big brother in this film world and that’s me."
Well, whatever the case may be, it sounds as though this feud was nothing more serious than a pair of arguing brothers. Family members don't always get along, but in the end, they always come back together. And with the Fast And Furious franchise focusing heavily on the bonds of family, this seems like an appropriate conclusion to the apparent fight between the two stars.
Now that Dom and Letty are on their honeymoon and Brian and Mia have retired from the game-and the rest of the crew has been exonerated-the globetrotting team has found a semblance of a normal life. But when a mysterious woman seduces Dom into the world of crime he can't seem to escape and a betrayal of those closest to him, they will face trials that will test them as never before. From the shores of Cuba and the streets of New York City to the icy plains off the arctic Barents Sea, our elite force will crisscross the globe to stop an anarchist from unleashing chaos on the world's stage... and to bring home the man who made them a family.
Starring Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Kurt Russell and Charlize Theron, The Fate Of The Furious speeds into theaters on April 14th.
