While Wonder Woman doesn't arrive in theatres for a few more months, the merchandising blitz for the iconic DC heroine is about to kick things up in a very big way.
Ahead of the highly anticipated debut, Warner Bros. Consumer Products has teamed with Mattel to create a line of Wonder Woman toys, debuting Friday in a first-to-market release at Wal-Mart stores nationwide, as well as on Walmart.com. As part of the program, which ends on April 28th, the retail giant will be offering multiple Wonder Woman dolls and toys, including an exclusive two-pack set of Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor.
A second exclusive rollout of Wonder Woman merchandise will begin in May with new products from the likes of Jakks Pacific, Funko and Fisher-Price respectively.
The Lego Group, Rubie’s Costumes, Bioworld, New Era, Hallmark and more will launch their own selection of Wonder Woman goodies internationally at multiple retailers beginning April 7th.
"We’re thrilled to bring Wonder Woman front and center to retailers worldwide in support of her first solo feature film," Warner Bros. Consumer Products president Pam Lifford said in a statement. "WBCP has developed an incredible assortment of trend-right products in collaboration with our best-in-class licensees, allowing fans of all ages to express their fandom and bring Wonder Woman's empowerment, inspiration and beauty to life."
Wonder Woman hits theatres on June 2nd.
