Famed comic book character Hellboy is returning to the big screen - without Guillermo del Toro.
Millennium is currently in negotiations with producers Larry Gordon and Lloyd Levin for a new installment that would reboot and relaunch the property. Mike Richardson of Dark Horse Entertainment will also produce the new movie.
Game Of Thrones helmer Neil Marshall will direct the reboot, which has a working title of Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen. Andrew Cosby, Christopher Golden and Hellboy creator Mike Mignola wrote the script.
While former franchise leading man Ron Perlman is not involved with the new film, Stranger Things star David Harbour is in talks to portray the film's titular hero.
Hellboy was created in 1993 by Mike Mignola. The character became an Indie comic hit and, in 2004, Revolution Studios and Sony released the first Hellboy movie from director Guillermo del Toro. The sequel would follow in 2008, once again directed by del Toro, and released by Universal. The two films would go on to amass a cult following in the years since their release, with fans praying for a third entry in the franchise sooner rather than later.
