While The Batman may have had a few shake-ups earlier this year, it looks as though the project is slowly starting to come together with Matt Reeves directing and Ben Affleck not only starring, but also executive producing. While the project has not been given an official release date yet, it sounds as though the cast is starting to get prepared for the highly anticipated flick, with Ben Affleck reportedly beginning to train for the role of The Caped Crusader once again.
Umberto Gonzalez over at TheWrap revealed on the latest episode of Heroic Insider that a source close to production informed him that Affleck has once again starting hitting the gym in preparation for his leading role in The Batman.
"Ben Affleck, Batman, I just got word that he just started training again for the role," Gonzalez said. "You know how there was talk that he was gonna leave and he might leave the role? Nah, bro. He’s working out. He’s getting back in shape."
Does this mean that production on The Batman could be kicking off soon?
It certainly sounds possible.
Given that it usually takes six months or more to prepare for such a physically demanding role, this would put Affleck back in fighting shape by early 2018, which is when filming on The Batman is thought to begin.

The Batman is set to star Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon and Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke.
