Fear The Walking Dead alum Cliff Curtis has signed on to all four of James Cameron's upcoming Avatar sequels in a lead role. The actor will portray Tonowari, who is the leader of the Metkayina, the reef people clan.
Curtis joins a cast that already includes returning stars Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington and Sigourney Weaver. Production on the first sequel kicks off next year at Wellington’s Stone Street Studios.
The first Avatar sequel arrives in theatres on December 18th, 2020. Subsequent sequels will arrive during the Christmas season of 2021, 2024 and 2025. The first Avatar film still remains the highest grossing film of all time with $2.79-Billion.
Sources close to production claim that production on the Avatar films will work around Curtis' work on AMC's Fear The Walking Dead, where the actor plays Travis Manama.
