Star Trek: Discovery has finally set an official premiere date! The series will launch Sunday, September 24th at 8:30pm/7:30c on CBS. The series premiere will also be available via CBS All Access and the second episode of the series will be available on the service that same night immediately following the broadcast premiere.
Following the premiere night, all new episodes will be available on-demand weekly on Sundays exclusively for CBS All Access subscribers in the United States. The 15-episode season will be released in two parts. The first eight episodes will run from September 24th through to November 5th. The season will then resume in January 2018.
The series will be distributed concurrently by CBS Studios International on Netflix in 188 countries and in Canada on Bell Media’s Space channel and OTT service CraveTV.
Plot details surrounding the series are unknown at this time, but we do know that this latest installment will serve as a prequel to the original 1960's series.
Starring Sonequa Martin-Green, Jason Isaacs, Doug Jones, Michelle Yeoh, Rainn Wilson and Anthony Rapp, Star Trek: Discovery premieres on Sunday, September 24th.
