Michael Bay's Transformers: The Last Knight launched Tuesday night with $5.5-Million in preview screenings across North America. The film opens everywhere today.
Pre-release tracking currently has the movie slated to earn a five-day domestic debut somewhere in the $70-Million-$75-Million range. This would be less than the $100-Million earned by Transformers: Age Of Extinction back in 2014, and the smallest launch in franchise history.
Despite this, Paramount is counting on the film to make big bucks overseas. The action-packed sequel opens in its first 42 foreign territories this weekend, including a slew of major markets, such as China, the U.K., Russia, Australia, Germany, Italy, North Korea and Hong Kong.
Transformers: The Last Knight stars Mark Wahlberg, Josh Duhamel, Laura Haddock and Sir Anthony Hopkins. The fifth installment of the multi billion dollar franchise opens today!
