Wonder Woman is a box office warrior!
In just over a week, the fourth entry in the DC Films Universe has reached the $300-Million mark at the worldwide box office. Warner Bros. confirmed that the film passed the hunch thanks to a $9.3-Million Wednesday here in North America.
Wonder Woman is now the highest grossing film to come from a female director, and Warner Bros. is said to be ramping up negotiations shortly with Patty Jenkins in an effort to get her back for a sequel. Due to the success of her film, sources report that Jenkins and her reps will enjoy enormous leverage at the bargaining table when talks with the studio begin.
Heading into its second weekend, Wonder Woman is expected to remain at the top of the box office, despite competition from Alex Kurtzman's newly released reboot of The Mummy.
Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.
Starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Elena Anaya and Lucy Davis, Wonder Woman is in theaters now.
