Earlier this weekend, word broke that a sequel to Renny Harlin's Deep Blue Sea was being developed as a television movie over on SyFy. Darin Scott is directing the project, currently filming over in Cape Town, and Stargate alum Michael Beach will star.
Now, ET Canada is reporting that Suicide Squad actor Adam Beach has joined the project in a current,y undisclosed role. Beach portrayed the short-lived assassin known as Slipknot in David Ayer's Suicide Squad, which hit theatres last summer. The character attempted to flee shortly arriving in Midtown City, only to have his head promptly blown off in the process.
While not much is known about the plot behind the Deep Blue Sea sequel (Sea-Quel?), we do know that the movie will focus on Dr. Klaus Van Etten, a scientist who is experimenting on bull sharks, much to the chagrin of a team of marine experts.
The sharks get out and all hell breaks loose.
Here's hoping that Beach's character will survive longer than his Suicide Squad counterpart when that eventually does happen.
