Alexander Rises Next Year In New 300 Prequel Comic

When it comes to the works of Frank Miller, 300 is easily one of his best-known titles.

The story focused on the Battle of Thermopylae and the ancient Spartans, however Miller has been considering a prequel comic told from the Persian side for several years now. And, in 2018, that tale will finally become reality with Xerxes: The Fall of the House of Darius and the Rise of Alexander. Hailing from Dark Horse Comics, the new book arrives next year and centers around the King Of Kings who raised a massive army to invade Greece in the fifth century B.C. to get revenge for his father’s death and become a god.

As the title suggests, the new book will also see the rise of Alexander The Great, who destroyed the Persian Empire a few centuries after Xerxes’ reign.

In celebration of the new book, Frank Miller will give a special signing session at the Dark Horse Comics booth at San Diego Comic Con on Friday, July 21st from 12-1:30pm. Wristbands for the event will be distributed at random drawings at the Dark Horse booths on Thursday and Friday morning. Fans who will also get their hands on a complimentary Xerxes lithograph.

Xerxes: The Fall of the House of Darius and the Rise of Alexander arrives on newsstands from Dark Horse Comics in 2018.
