Power Rangers Tops Home Video Sales In First Week

Despite not being the box office success that Lionsgate was hoping for, Power Rangers has found new life on the home video market. The Dean Israelite reboot topped home video sales chart in its first week, selling in greater quantity than even Disney's live-action Beauty And The Beast.

Not only that, but Power Rangers also topped James Mangold's Logan in rentals, something that hasn't been done since the R-rated spinoffs release. Power Rangers only grossed $85-Million domestically, but here's hoping some strong video sales will show the studio that there are fans out there ready and willing to support a sequel.

While that doesn't guarantee that a sequel will get made, it does provide a glimmer of hope.

Five ordinary teens must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it’s too late, band together as the Power Rangers.

Starring Dacre Montgomery, Naomi Scott, RJ Cyler, , Becky G, Ludi Lin, Elizabeth Banks,  Bill Hader and Bryan Cranston, Power Rangers is available on Blu-Ray and DVD now.
