Two DC Vets Join Ant-Man And The Wasp

Two DC icons have joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Michelle Pfeiffer and Laurence Fishburne have officially signed on for roles in Ant-Man And The Wasp, with the actress portraying Janet van Dyne and the actor taking up the part of Bill Foster.

In the pages of Marvel Comics, Janet van Dyne is the superhero wife of original Ant-Man, Hank Pym. She eventually becomes the original Wasp, a founding member of The Avengers, and the mother to future Wasp, Hope van Dyne. Foster is a scientist who worked alongside Hank Pym at one point, eventually becoming the Black Goliath and then taking over the role of Giant-Man from Pym. He also happened to be one of the first casualties in the 2006 Civil War comic book.

The duo are the latest newcomers to the ever expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe, joining Walton Goggins as new additions to the highly anticipated Peyton Reed superhero sequel.

Both Michelle Pfeiffer and Laurence Fishburne have dabbled in the comic book movie field in the past. Pfeiffer portrayed Catwoman in the 1992 Tim Burton film Batman Returns, while Fishburne has been playing Daily Planet editor in chief Perry White in the likes of Man Of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice from director Zack Snyder.

Ant-Man And The Wasp is slated for release on July 6th, 2018
